Review: Not too many good things can be said about this movie, it had a moment or two, here and there, but this movie was more America America Ra Ra Ra than Independence Day. The poor Russians ones again need the USA's help with a satellite orbiting earth that is ready to come hurdling down to earth, but that must be stopped for some reason, which is kept secret. So they go up, the young rookies mess up, cause danger, screw everything up, the old guys who do things manually save the day, land the Space Shuttle, and one even gets to go to the moon with the secret nuclear payload… Thank INRI I downloaded this and watched it while cleaning my closet, otherwise I would have really been upset for the wasted 90 minutes.

Ocean’s Twelve

Review: Noooooooooooooooooooo! Ack, don't see this thing unless the only thing you're looking for is to stare at Brad Pitt/George Clooney/Matt Damon/etc. 'cause that's about all you're going to get. in typical Hollywood fashion, a tonne was spent on actors, with the remainder going into special effects. Notice anything missing from that list? writers perhaps? The plot's not really there, and you get the feeling the director shot whatever the hell he thought would look cool, then slapped it all on film and call it a movie. I mean c'mon, at least make a half-hearted effort to tie up the film in the end. Anyway's, the remake of 11 wasn't bad, this one's just there to prey on the gullible, go rent Hero or something, and get a decent movie.

Sledding

Sledding

Laughter, glee, childish
The sleds rush by
Snow in the air from the boots trying to direct it
But in vain, the tree is coming, no, the garage, no the side of the house
A crash, a bang, more snow in the air
Mittens lost, hats on trees, boots in bushes
Face down in the snow, ready to ride again

Strange Brew

Rating: 6/10
Review: Ummm, Canadian humor. A wacky film that would make any Canadian cringe, but yet funny. Filmed in Ontario, where two brothers end up working in a beer brewery and end up knee deep in an attempt of a hostile take over of the plant from the deceased brother. This movie has many subtle funny moment, starts off slow, but it is a must see. Rent it, but please, don’t buy it.

Falling Down

Review: It's one of those days, where everything and anything pisses you off. Imagine the day where you just snap and tell the world exactly what you think and how you feel. Well, for Bill Foster sitting in a traffic jam, with no air conditioning this happens, he breaks and goes home. It is an enjoyable movie, well paced with subtle humour of anyone who has been in any of the situation portrait with in this movie. From paying too much for a can of soda to being looked down upon by rich golfers. I can sympathise with Bill, has he lashes out against the flaws of society.

Waking Dreams

Waking Dreams

I wait for you in my dreams,
But unleash wrath upon my loved ones when you come.
I look for you during the day,
But fear the moment I see you,
You besiege my walls,
and I wait three word.

The Lingering of the Soul

The Lingering of the Soul

The past hang over me still
The dreams replay with in me
Unable to close the last chapter
The ink is still wet
The pain is still real

The sun shines
More often I must say
But at times I feel like I am in the center of the storm
The sun protruding through the eye
But darkness all around

Tick Tock

Tick Tock

The butterflies in my stomach
The incisive looking at the clock, is it laughing at me and going slower? Or yet backwards?
When will this day end so I can see her again!

The Thomas Crown Affair

Title: The Thomas Crown Affair
Genre: Drama
Rating: 9/10
Review: This is what dreams are mode of. To be that charming, confident and successful. So what does a man who can get anything he wants do? Simple, get the unobtainable. So Thomas goes out and steals a priceless piece of art, a Monet. The other main character is Catherine Banning's who is a bounty hunter for the insurers of the painting and her job is to get it back, in what ever way possible. As the story unfolds, she begins to fall for Thomas as the story unfolds, with her trying to pin the theft on him and him enjoying the challenge. This movie is well filmed, with great music, and well thought out script. There is a number of places where I really enjoyed the film, one of them was right at the beginning them Thomas enters his building and tries to get past a security guard to get into the elevator, and he says “what do you think, you own the place”. The security guard gets taken to the side and as the camera focuses on Thomas lips, you hear, “yes he does” and there is a great shot of he side of his lips going up in a beautiful grin. One of the other great parts is the psychiatrist that keeps making fun of him. Anytime there is a scene with her, she takes little pot shots at him and his ego. Another great little part. I truly enjoyed this movie on many levels, from just wishing I could be like Thomas Crown, to being able to steal a priceless piece of art. I liked it so much I bought it.
